We believe that Scripture teaches there is only one true and living God, who is self-existent, and the eternal “I AM,” the creator of heaven and earth, and the redeemer of mankind. We believe that He has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the same in essence, though distinct in personality (Genesis 1:26-27; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:18-19; Luke 3:22). These three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfection and are worthy of the same honor and obedience (Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Revelation 1:4-6) The way in which He simply exists eternally and is the sustainer of all things in existence, is a subject far above the understanding of man. He is the fountain of life, perfection and true joy. He is glorified by the whole of creation and is worthy to be loved and served by all intelligence. He, therefore, is the only proper object of worship (Jeremiah 10:10; Exodus 3:14; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19-20; Job 11:7; Psalm 19:1-2; Psalm 145:10).
We believe that scripture makes clear the reality that Jesus is the physical embodiment of God (Colossians 1:15) and has always existed as God (John 1:1; Colossians 1:16) yet became fully flesh to be the full definition of humanity to become the perfect sacrifice for humanity (Philippians 2:5-8)
As a result of original sin, mankind is born into a sinful condition and therefore, not inherently good. Sinfulness is not something that is learned, but rather the reality of our nature apart from the character of God’s qualities (Romans 1:21-31). Romans 5:12 states, “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” Also see (Romans 3:10,23)
Justification is the legal act whereby God declares the sinner to be innocent of his or her sins. It is not that the sinner is now sinless, but that he/she is “declared” sinless. This declaration of righteousness means the person is justified before God. This justification is based on the shed blood of Jesus, “…having now been justified by His blood…” (Romans 5:9) where Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). God imputed (reckoned to our account) the righteousness of Christ at the same time our sins were imputed to Christ when He was on the cross. That is why it says in 1 Peter 2:24, “And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.” Also, 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” We are justified by faith (Romans 5:1) apart from works of the Law (Romans 3:28)
We believe the scriptures clearly indicate that Christ died a bodily death and rose from the grave on the 3rd day in the same body that He died in, though in a glorified state (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; John 20:20; Philippians 3:20-21)
Jesus Christ made it clear that He is coming back to the earth from heaven, and will descend with great power & glory to take His rightful place as ruler over all things. As the church we are encouraged to stay alert to this coming event. (John 14:3; Matthew 24:29-31)
We believe the canon of scripture to be the inspired word of the one true Living God, and completely infallible as delivered by Him in it’s original form (2 Timothy 3:16; Revelation 22:18-19; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
